Hard-won climate commitments achieved over decades are backsliding, while increasing global fragmentation threatens the foundations of Malaysia’s economic development. As familiar international frameworks dissolve, the world grows more fragmented, uncertain and dangerous.
Malaysia cannot afford to stand idle. This moment offers Malaysia the opportunity to shape the next generation of regional norms around trade, climate and connectivity – and to strengthen our economic and physical ties across ASEAN and beyond.
