Global Trends 2026 and Beyond
BIPSS President, Major General A N M Muniruzzaman, ndc, psc (Retd.), was invited as a Guest Speaker at the National Defence College (NDC), Dhaka, to deliver a lecture on “Global Trends 2026 and Beyond” to senior military and civil service officers of the NDC course.
The lecture explored the key forces reshaping the global landscape, spanning geopolitics, societal change, technology health security etc. He examined how these interconnected trends are redefining the nature of global challenges, emphasizing that the ability to withstand international crises will increasingly depend on a nation’s capacity to adapt to rapid change and cultivate robust strategic foresight.
The session concluded with an interactive discussion, where NDC course participants raised incisive questions touching on resource and economic security, humanitarian and regional stability challenges, the changing architecture of national power, the future of multilateral institutions, the climate-conflict nexus, and the shifting ideological and technological currents redefining global politics.
The engagement reinforced the value of platforms that bring strategic foresight into dialogue with the country’s future security leadership, and BIPSS remains committed to fostering such exchanges with premier national institutions.
