Seminar with the Student Delegation of Bar-Ilan University

On Tuesday, September 16, the 20-member student delegation from Bar-Ilan University in Israel, led by Dr. Alon Levkowitz, Chair of the Department of Asian Studies and Interdisciplinary Humanities Studies, visited the Asan Institute for Policy Studies. Dr. Ji-Hyang Jang and Dr. Peter Lee gave lectures on South Korea’s history, foreign and security policies under “Democratization of South Korea in Comparative Perspectives” and “ROK-U.S. Alliance and Security in the Indo-Pacific Region” respectively. During a Q&A session, Asan fellows and the delegation discussed various issues, including South Korea’s democracy and nuclear deterrence strategy.

RSIS organised a book launch seminar on Negotiating Governance on Non-Traditional Security in Southeast Asia and Beyond, authored by Dr Mely Caballero-Anthony, Professor of International Relations and Head of the RSIS Centre for Non-Traditional Security (NTS) Studies.
