Abstract
With an Introduction by the political theorist and policy analyst Pratap Bhanu Mehta, Prolegomena to the Study of People and Places in Violent India is written as a letter to the contemporary Italian philosopher Giorgio Agamben. Engaging Agamben’s categories of “camp” and “refugee”, the letter sets out the problems and possibilities of situating these categories in a South Asian context.
