DESCRIPTION:NTS amidst Pandemic: A Fireside Zoominar \nOn Thursday\, 4 June 2020\, the NTS-Asia Secretariat organised an informal Zoom meeting with the NTS-Asia Consortium members to discuss how the COVID-19 outbreak has affected their work and how the network can meaningfully contribute to various discussions relating to the pandemic. The current health crisis and the magnitude of impacts that it has caused on multiple sectors have underscored the importance and relevance of the Consortium members’ on-going work on various non-traditional security issues. \nMembers reported a number of challenges they have been facing at work. These range from reduced funding to restricted movements\, that have rendered fieldwork and classroom activities difficult. There was also a discussion about countries soon to open their economies again\, and whether or not they are actually ready for it. \nThe meeting discussed how NTS-Asia members can work together and find opportunities to leverage their work in dealing with issues related to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. \n
